These are the words which were found in a poem written in our congregation in 1934.
While our world may be very different, these words continue to ring true today.

Warm Hearts

Following the ways of Christ, our community seeks to care for one another, and to care for those
beyond the walls of the church. South Broadway seeks to be a space of 'connection' where people may
experience God, seek meaning, and move toward life-giving ways of being together in relationship.

Open Minds

We believe God is big. We aren't afraid to ask difficult questions, to name our doubts, to hold
tension in our differences, and to admit when we are wrong. We welcome diverse perspectives
and life experiences. 

Adventurous Spirit

We aren't afraid to try new ways of living into ministry and connecting with our local community.
We seek to be both faithful and relevant believing that God is always pushing us to love bigger,
to learn more, and to be more active in our surrounding community.

 

Future Story

In February of 2014, the congregation gathered for a 'Dreaming Retreat' and began to name
where we see ourselves in five years. A diverse team of nine people took the information
gathered from the retreat and developed a 'future story.' Click below to read the Future Story
